Using interests to Discover College Majors

What’s on your browser history?

Teens are sometimes hesitant to share what is on their browsing history with me but it is often the single biggest clue of what they may want to major in….and likewise if their chosen major never appears on their browsing history naturally there is a problem. I see this most often with STEM majors. A student wanting to be a dermatologist and no searches for anything remotely related to skin on their feed…maybe only salaries that pay the highest.

I will be sharing more of my downloadable resources for those teaching and counseling as well as parents weekly on Saturdays….but here is a simple slide deck below to get you started as you ask simple questions to discover interests and some examples of real majors that coincide with some answers to the questions.
